PETALING JAYA: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) members must be impartial in order for the PAC to perform effectively, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
“The position is indeed a huge responsibility especially with the rakyat’s high expectations of the committee.
"But I believe (newly nominated PAC chairman and Rompin MP) Datuk Hasan Arifin has the necessary experience and capability to lead a very important committee of our legislature,” Azalina, who is in charge of parliamentary affairs, said in a statement on Sunday.
