KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of murdered Anthony Kevin Morais are still at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) and have yet to be claimed by family members.
As at 9.30pm Wednesday, attempts by the media to interview Morais' family at the Nirvana Memorial Centre in Sungai Besi were unsuccessful.
The late DPP's younger brother, Datuk Richard Morais, also declined to comment on claiming the remains.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief, Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said police had already given the go-ahead for the body to be claimed.
"Police have handed the matter to the family to claim the remains. The media should ask HKL why the family did not claim the body today," he said.
Morais' body was found stuffed in cement in an oil drum on Sept 16.
He had gone missing on Sept 4 while on his way to work in Putrajaya. - Bernama
