KOTA KINABALU: A mini-zoo set up for wildlife awareness education in a Tawau primary school 21 years ago has been shut down after the animals were found to be kept in squalid conditions.
Some 50 animals and various bird species have been confiscated from Yuk Chin Mini Zoo, which was initially set up by SJK (C) Yuk Chin and the Wildlife Department as an educational programme in 1994.
