Two new systems to reduce sedimentation

CAMERON HIGHLANDS: High sedimentation in the Sultan Abu Bakar dam is expected to be reduced with the introduction of two new systems, said Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

Designed by the ministry’s National Hydraulic Research Institute of Malaysia (Nahrim), the integrated drainage system (NIDS) and Intelligent River Guard system have been put in place at Sungai Kemud and Sungai Merah in Ringlet here.
