KUALA LUMPUR: No websites including news portals are exempted from being blocked by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) if they were found to promote the Bersih 4 rally.

Commenting on MCMC's statement, Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Jailani Johari said the decision was made because the rally organiser did not get a permit from the authorities to hold the event.
