KOTA KINABALU: Cut off by mudfloods in the northern Kota Belud district, villagers have been quick to carve out alternative routes to enable them to reach the outside world.
Some have resorted to fashioning tree trunks into steps on slippery hill slopes and making temporary suspension bridges to cross fast-flowing rivers in Kampung Kaung.
