KOTA KINABALU: Umno's Balung assemblyman Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali (pic) has been appointed as the Speaker of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly.
Syed Abas takes over as the ninth speaker of the assembly from Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said Keruak who quit the post after being Communication and Multimedia Minister in last week's Cabinet reshuffle.
