MIRI: Outstanding business leaders and those with outstanding potential in the BIMP-EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines-East Asian Growth Area) zone have been honoured for propelling the region's economic rise.
The individuals were honoured at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA) 2015 held in Miri City on Saturday evening.
APEA is a regional economic recognition programme organised by Enterprise Asia, the region’s foremost non-governmental think tank aimed at the development of entrepreneurs and businesses.
The awards are presented to a handful of entrepreneurs and business leaders across the Asia Pacific region every year.
President of Enterprise Asia Datuk William Ng said that the award winners are torch-bearers of entrepreneurial and business leadership in their respective countries.
“The APEA is in its second year and the winners are major contributors to the escalating development in BIMP EAGA.
“This award will encourage the winners to drive the economy to greater heights and provide more job opportunities,” he said.
The winners in the Outstanding category were CEO of Asian Supply Base Datuk Harris Annuar, managing director of LCY Development Francis Lau, president of Oceancare Corporation Datuk Nelson Balang Rining and CEO of Petrohub Corporation Datuk Junaidi Abdul Rahman.
The winners in the Most Promising category were president of Aziza Paradise Hotel Benedict Rocha, director of Eustolia Marketing Services Lhai Santiago, group managing director of HMN Nadhir Sdn Bhd Awang Habiburliah Awang Ismail, managing director of Hydro Icon Bobby Ting, general manager of Leyden Engineering Services Anthony Ho, managing director of Misarma Entreprise Tang Siong Chung, CEO of Preston Shipyard Zailani Mansor, general manager of Rajang Port Helen Lim, CEO of Tenaga Seri Wangsa Hong Boon Swee, CEO of Teras Eramaju Wan Nur Muhamnad, director of TOS Logistic and Shipping William Yong and director of Tukim Enterprise Datuk Liew Chun Kim.
