Cabinet reshuffle: MCA sec-gen Ong Ka Chuan appointed minister

PETALING JAYA: MCA now has three full ministers in its ranks.

Party secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan (pic) was appointed International Trade and Industry Minister II, in a Cabinet reshuffle announced Tuesday.

MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai remained the Transport Minister, while deputy-president Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong retained his portfolio as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.

MCA Youth chief Senator Chong Sin Woon was appointed the new Deputy Education Minister.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dropped Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin from the Cabinet and appointed Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as the new Deputy Prime Minister.
