GELANG PATAH: Two motorcyclists died on the spot while two others were injured when three motorcycles collided with a car along the Johor Baru-Gelang Patah road here.

Nusajaya acting OCPD Deputy Supt Ismail Dollah said the accident occurred near the Petronas petrol station at KM18 along the road around 6.15pm Friday.

"Initial investigations showed that the car driver lost control of his vehicle and swerved into the opposite lane.

"The three motorcycles, which were on the opposite lane heading towards Gelang Patah from Skudai, then crashed into the car, instantly resulting in the two deaths," he said in a statement here.

He added that the body of the two deceased, identified as Lim Wee Kiat, 25, and Gabriel Andrew Bateman, 54, were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for a post mortem.

The injured were the car driver and third motorcyclist.

"The other two injured in the accident were also sent to the same hospital for treatment," he said adding that the case has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
