Wan Mohd Azri Wan Deris also known as Papagomo.

KUALA LUMPUR: Wan Mohd Azri Wan Deris or blogger Papagomo has been released from police custody after four days in lockup over his alleged involvement in the Low Yat Plaza brawl.

Clad in a black shirt and blue jeans, Papagomo appeared upbeat as he walked out of the Dang Wangi police station at about 4.40pm on Friday.

He was released after his remand order expired.

"No comments," he smiled to reporters before getting into a car.

Dang Wangi CID chief Deputy Supt M Gunalan confirmed the blogger's release.

His lawyer Ahmad Shuaib Ismail clarified that despite the expiry of his client's remand order, the investigation was still ongoing.

He said Papagomo could still be called in or charged in court at any time.

Ahmad Shuaib added that his client had given police his full cooperation and had surrendered his gadgets for investigation.

His lawyer also dismissed allegations that the blogger had posted statements on social media, which fanned racial tensions.

He claimed that others also had access to the blogger's accounts.

"Anyone can put up pictures and print screen and say it was him. Anyone can say that he did it, but can it be proven?

"Even when he is in lock up, his pages are still active and being updated. So this means there are other people managing the Papagomo page," Ahmad Shuaib claimed.

Papagomo was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly posting a picture of a robbery victim on social media and linking it to Sunday's Low Yat Plaza brawl.

He is being investigated under Section 505 of the Penal Code for public mischief.
