KUALA LUMPUR: Fun time was over when police arrested 49 persons, including 35 foreign public relations officers (GROs), at two entertainment outlets.
The raids, led by city CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad, were conducted at about 1am yesterday in Jalan Ambong Kanan 1, Kepong Baru, and Jalan 9, Taman Bukit Cheras.
He said that nine Thai, six Vietnamese and three Chinese women were arrested in Jalan Ambong, while 17 Vietnamese women were picked up in Taman Bukit Cheras.
“When we moved in, the GROs were busy entertaining clients,” he added.
SAC Zainuddin said 78 individuals were also checked.
Thirteen of them – six Malaysian men and seven Vietnamese women – tested positive for methamphetamine.
Those arrested were taken to the Cheras police station.
