Special number plates managed by third parties not new, says JPJ

PETALING JAYA: Special vehicle registration plates, managed by a third-party, are not a new occurrence, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) said in response to questions raised over the “Patriot” number plate series.

In a statement on Friday, JPJ director-general Datuk Seri Ismail Ahmad added that Yayasan Patriot Negara Malaysia (YPN) had been accorded the Patriot vehicle registration plates and it had been through the required application process.
