PUTRAJAYA: The public and private sectors must work together to address today's social issues, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic).
The Prime Minister said as the nation progressed and societal dynamics became complex, both sectors needed to work together to find innovative solutions "to improve the lives of the rakyat.”
"As Malaysia progresses towards developed nation status, we see that societal dynamics are becoming increasingly complex.
"We can no longer work in silos if we want to improve the lives of the raykat.
"To tackle the issue at hand, we need fresh perspectives and creative new solutions. Most importantly, we need to work together," said Najib, when launching the Social Public-Private Partnership (Social PPP) initiative at the Prime Minister's office here Thursday.
The Social PPP is a social service model for the government and private sectors that aims to address social disparities by delivering high-value impact at a lower cost.
Spearheaded by Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) and the Prime Minister's Department's Public-Private Partnership Unit (Ukas), the Social PPP is an initiative under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS).
