PKR: Not possible for Khalid to be Selangor MB

PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim's offer to assume the Selangor mentri besar post is not viable, says PKR's Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin (pix).

The party vice-president said that Mentri Besar Azmin Ali still holds the support of PKR, DAP and PAS in the state assembly.

"It is very strange that Khalid can think that he can retake the post as he was fired from PKR and is only an Independent.

"I wish to remind him that he won his seat under the PKR banner so the people may not have voted for him exclusively," Shamsul said in a statement on Friday.

The Bukit Katil MP said the only way Khalid could get his previous job back was with the support of Umno.

"This would be a huge betrayal to the trust of the Selangor people who voted against the Umno rule in the last general election," he said.

He also said that Khalid should look at himself before offering to be the solution to the problem.

"This is because in his style of leadership when he was mentri besar, Khalid did not follow the decisions made by the Pakatan leadership, which made him lose the majority support of the state assembly, thus resulting in his dismissal," Shamsul added.
