PETALING JAYA: Sabah Umno deputy chief Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has accused Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad of not willing to accept any explanation on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd issue.

He claimed that the former prime minister merely wanted Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to step down as Prime Minister.

“Dr Mahathir has so many suspicions and questions but when answers are given, he rejects them and calls them lies,” said Salleh, who is also Sabah state assembly speaker in a blog posting.

“So what more then does he expect? When you do not reply he implies something is wrong but when you reply he calls them lies.

“The only thing that can satisfy Dr Mahathir is Najib’s resignation. Anything short of that is not acceptable.”

Salleh said Dr Mahathir should lodge reports with the police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission about what he knew on the wrongdoings at 1MDB.

“He can also hand in all the evidence that he has. It is time that Dr Mahathir stopped asking questions and instead give us the answers to those questions since only his answers are acceptable and everyone else’s are not.

“And he can give the police and MACC those answers to help them in their investigation,” he added.
