PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said Sabah has several active fault lines that result in occasional earthquakes.
MetMalaysia's Earthquake and Tsunami Centre director Dr Wan Azli Wan Hassan said an earthquake can be considered weak if it is below 5 on the Richter scale to moderate if it is between 5 and 5.9 on the Richter scale.
