KUALA LUMPUR: The Civil Defense Department will be beefed into an effective ‘third line of defense’ for disaster relief operations.
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (pic) said on Wednesday that a special committee had been set up to look at amending the Civil Defense Ordinance 1951 to fully realise the role of the department in disaster management.
