Trio in the dock over broker’s death


GEORGE TOWN: Three men were charged in a magistrate’s court here with the murder of a broker who was allegedly killed after refusing to offer a cigarette to a man on the street.

Odd-job worker Mohd Shaha­buddin Mohd Ali, 50, taxi driver N. Murugesh, 35, and unemployed K. Baskaran, 33, were jointly charged with murdering Chew Hup Kheng, 42, beside a road in front of Chulia Court in Chulia Street here at 7.05am on May 1.
