GEORGE TOWN: The state government has been asked by Penang Gerakan to explain what had happened to the RM3mil contribution from a developer to the state heritage fund.
Its chairman Teng Chang Yeow said in March this year, the state had told the media that Klassik Tropika Development Sdn Bhd contributed that amount to the fund in return for not rebuilding 20 Pykett Mansion or Khaw Sim Bee Mansion which was demolished without planning permission from the then Penang Municipal Council (now known as Penang Island City Council).
