BUKIT MERTAJAM: Barisan Nasional’s Permatang Pauh by-election candidate Suhaimi Sabudin has launched his Facebook fan page.
The page includes contents in Chinese as well as a 53-second video clip in which Suhaimi introduces himself and his family in Chinese written on a notepad and word boards.
He starts off by introducing himself as Suhaimi and that people could also call him ‘Ah Mi’.
Suhaimi states in the following word boards that he is 43, married with two boys and two girls and is the managing director of a construction firm.
He graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with an honours degree in Housing, Building and Planning.
In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family, fish, play football and participate actively in social programmes.
The clip ends with Suhaimi speaking in Hokkien: “Lu hor chance, wa zho kang”, meaning “You give me the chance, I’ll work for you”.
To further woo Chinese voters, Suhaimi also released a letter to voters in Chinese with the same title (You give me the chance, I’ll work for you).
In the letter, which was released to the media yesterday, he said he was born and raised in Permatang Pauh where he had witnessed numerous general elections and by-elections.
“But I have not seen any changes in Permatang Pauh and it saddens me to see the limited development here in the past 16 years.
“Like me, I believe that you too cannot bear to see the slow development here,” he stated.
Suhaimi said he has risen from being the son of a lorry driver to becoming the managing director of a construction firm.
