PETALING JAYA: The Government should rethink imposing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on domestic flights in Sabah and Sarawak because air transportation is an essential mode of public transport in the two states.

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) vice-president (inbound) Datuk Tan Kok Liang described the matter as “a case of policy makers implementing policies without appropriate consultation with stakeholders.”
