Defence in murder of woman jogger attacks cop’s credibility


ALOR SETAR: A senior police officer who was the recording officer in the murder case of female jogger Chee Gaik Yap, is not a reliable witness and had lied to the court, a High Court here heard.

Defence counsel Shamsul Sulaiman submitted that ASP Zainal Omar Mahamud, 55, had proven that he was not a reliable witness by avoiding questions with answers such as “I don’t know”, “I’m not sure” and “I can’t remember”.
