KUALA LUMPUR: There are no plans to make the caning of a child an offence under new laws to protect children, said Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun (pic).
"I stress that there is no proposal to have a special provision to make caning a child an offence under the new Child Act," she said when answering a question raised by Datuk Sapawi Ahmad Wasali (BN-Sipitang) in Parliament Monday.
