JOHOR BARU: Black Eyed Peas, the American super hip-hop group, and Korean girl pop artist, T-Ara, are among the big names performing at a free, four-day music festival in Danga Bay, as part of the celebrations to commemorate the Sultan of Johor's coronation.
Other hot names in the music industry such as Indonesia's Rossa, Korea's Sistar, Taiwanese Fuying and Sam, as well as legendary local artistes like Sheila Majid, Jacklyn Victor, Penny Tai and Shila Amzah will also entertain visitors in an open-air concert, beginning March 26.
In a statement here, Johor Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism Committe chairman Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said the shows were organised by the Johor Tourism Department, in association with the Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd.
This is the first time that the Black Eyed Peas, which has sold an estimated 76 million records and is one of the world's best-selling groups of all time, will perform in Johor.
In addition, a series of other events like F3000 Power Boat Race, Cycleton Around Johor, Beach Sports, Boats Floats Procession and spectacular fireworks will also be held in conjunction with the celebrations. - Bernama
