GEORGE TOWN: House hunters are scouting mainly for mid-range homes at the four-day Star Property Fair 2015.

Chris Lim, 30, and his girlfriend Natasha Chan, 29, said they were looking for a mid-range property as their new house.

“We are getting married next year and this is the best time for us to build our home.

“Both of us are working and we are looking for a property costing about RM500,000,” Lim said, adding that he chose to come to the fair as it had a wide range of properties.

Engineer Firdaus Zakir, 33, from Butterworth, said he wanted to get a new house for himself and his parents.

“I started working a few years ago and have some savings. However, I’m eyeing a house costing not more than RM300,000.

“I cannot go for a house that is priced beyond my budget,” said Firdaus.

Kulim-based accountant Nurul Alia Mohd Fisool, 26, is looking for her first house on the mainland.

“I hope to find a place near where I am living with my parents now. I like this fair as it has properties with different price ranges,” she said.

Today is the last day of the fair. The event at the Sunway Carnival Mall and Convention Centre in Seberang Jaya is open from 10am to 10pm. Admission is free.
