ALOR SETAR: A group of 22 students from SMK Mergong here ate fruit from a tree in the belief it would make them stronger, but were hospitalised for food poisoning instead.
In the 9pm incident on Tuesday, the students were on their way back from Maghrib prayers when they decided to eat the fruit of the Sandbox tree (Buah Payung Indonesia, scientific name Hura crepitans).
