Royal speech: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak handing over the royal address text to the King at the 13th Parliament sitting in Kuala Lumpur.

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mua’dzam Shah has called on Malaysians to be wary of propaganda by militant groups and urged them to adopt the spirit of moderation (wasatiyyah) as a way of life.

In his royal address at the opening of the third session of the 13th Parliament yesterday, the King welcomed efforts by the Government to strengthen security and public order to curb the spread of extremism and militant activities such as those practised by the Islamic State.
