KOTA KINABALU: A man was killed and another seriously injured when the car they were travelling rammed into a tree along the Jalan Kopungit at Kepayan near here early Saturday.
Authorities were still trying to establish the identity of the dead man as no identification documents were found on him following the 5.25am mishap.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Services Department spokesman Affendy Ramin The seriously injured man had been identified as Clauson Oliver Dee Thomas Michael.
He said they could immediately ascertain who was the driver of the car.
Affendy said they were alerted of the mishap at about 5.27am and rushed 13 firemen including an Emergency Medical Rescue Service team (EMRS) to the scene.
He said both firemen immediately sought to remove both victims who were pinned in the severely damaged vehicle.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene while the EMRS team rushed the injured man to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
