Sungai Semenyih plant shut due to high ammonia, manganese levels


PETALING JAYA: The Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant was shut down on Tuesday afternoon due to pollution detected in the water, said Selangor Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Agriculture committee chairman Zaidy Abdul Talib.

In a press release issued on Tuesday evening, Zaidy said that the Selangor Water Management Authority (Luas) had received information from Konsortium Abass Sdn Bhd that there had been a drop in the pH level of water in Sungai Semenyih, and an increase in the levels of manganese in water at 3.15pm.
