PETALING JAYA: PAS is cautious about Umno’s decision to sit out the Chempaka by-election, stating that there is nothing to stop its party members from contesting as “independents”.
PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali said that while the party viewed the decision positively, it wanted Umno to show its sincerity by not “fielding independents”.
