Picture of elderly man on makeshift cart in Pitas spurs action on access road

Ailing Bojong Mokiling being transported on a buffalo cart from Kg Niatang to the main road in Pitas

KOTA KINABALU: A photograph circulated on social media of an elderly semi-paralysed man being pulled on a makeshift buffalo cart on the way to seek medical attention in Sabah’s northern Pitas district has spurred action to get an access road built immediately.

The plight of the Kampung Niatang villagers was highlighted when a photograph surfaced of ailing 70-something Bojong Mokiling lying on the crude cart with no wheels through a muddy and stony path from a remote settlement to the main road.
