PETALING JAYA: Police will investigate comments by Penang state executive councillor Chong Eng which are said to have criticised the Selangor Islamic Religious Department’s (Jais) Friday sermon for allegedly advising women to cover up to prevent rape.
An online news portal quoted Chong as saying that Jais had provided “misleading information on rape” in a Friday sermon which “smacks of victim-blaming, and shows male bias in religious leadership”.
