Former Fisheries Dept officer acquitted of bribery charges

BUTTERWORTH: A former Fisheries Department officer has been freed of two counts of receiving a RM246,024.20 bribe from a fish fry supplier five years ago, and the supplier also been cleared of bribery.

Sessions Court Judge Julie Lack Abdullah acquitted and discharged Abdul Hamid Ismail, 51, and Mohd Rosman Ramli, 50, without calling for their defence after finding that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie against them.
