Penang files application to declare PPS legal

GEORGE TOWN: The Penang state government has filed an application to a High Court here for a judicial review to declare the Penang Voluntary Patrol Unit (PPS) a lawful organisation.

The application, filed by PPS chairman Phee Boon Poh on Tuesday, seeks to declare that PPS was established legally under Section 101(v) of the Local Government Act 1976, as well as a declaration that the unit is not an organisation under the Societies Act 1965.
