KUALA LUMPUR: Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin wants the police to investigate a report of an alleged scuffle between his special officer and a member of Perkasa Wira on Thursday.

"I have not had the chance to speak to my special officer about the incident yet, but I understand that a police report has been made.

"So I will let the police carry out their investigation," he told reporters after attending the Youth Parliament sitting on Saturday.

Lenggong Perkasa Wira member Saad Abdul Rahman alleged in the report that he was assaulted by Khairy's special officer, Iruan Zulkifli Mohamad.

Iruan, who is Lenggong Umno Youth chief, was said to have approached Saad with a few others while he was eating, before the two exchanged harsh words.

Iruan then told Saad that Perkasa should not dispute Umno Youth's work, before he grabbed the latter by the neck and punched him.

The incident was witnessed by Iruan's friends, who then broke up the fight.

Saad allegedly received three stitches for injuries he sustained during the incident.
