IPOH: A banner was torn down, while harsh words against Chinese leaders were uttered during a protest here aimed at Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over his remark that non-Muslims in Penang can use the word “Allah”.

A protester, believed to be from Perkasa, pulled down the banner that was hung outside the state DAP headquarters to wish people a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year even as DAP’s Tebing Tinggi assemblyman Ong Boon Piow accepted the protest memorandum handed to him yesterday by Perak Perkasa Youth chief Mohd Hafez Mubin Mohd Salleh.
