KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has set Jan 6 to rule on a judicial review application by academician Kassim Ahmad challenging his prosecution by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) for allegedly insulting Islam.
High Court judge Justice Asmabi Mohamad said she decided to accept additional submissions filed by the senior federal counsel, although late, as the parties had not given enough clarifications over the issue of jurisdiction of the civil and Syariah courts.
