Zainal Abidin: Penang CM has no jurisdiction over Islamic matters

GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has drawn flak from Umno over his stand on the laws governing the word “Allah” in Penang.

Lim, who is DAP secretary-general, had reportedly given permission to non-Muslims in Penang to use the word “Allah”, saying that the prohibition of its use by non-Muslims under the Penang Islamic Administration Enactment 2004 was not applicable and enforceable on non-Muslims.
