Datuk Fuad Hassan

PETALING JAYA: Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director-general Datuk Fuad Hassan passed away at Kuantan's Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan early Sunday.

Fuad, 62, a former Ulu Klang assemblyman, had a heart attack while attending a Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission function at Kemaman, Terengganu on Saturday. He was first sent to the Kemaman Hospital before being transferred to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.

Fuad’s siblings are former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan (the eldest), and Malaysian screen legend Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan (his younger brother). The trio were sons of prominent religious teacher, Tan Sri Hassan Azhari.

Fuad's remains will be brought home to Ampang Monday, with burial at the Ampang's Taman Bukit Teratai Muslim burial ground expected at about 11am.
