KUALA LUMPUR: Umno will initiate online registration of members to bring youths into the party, said president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

In reaffirming the party's stance to bring in more youngsters into the party, Najib said "youths are the way forward and an important part of the party's rejuvenation."

He said there was a need to include the 'third generation' and called on the older generations from within Umno to work together.

"We are fully committed to help the youth, and in this assembly, will be especially committed to opening the doors of Umno as wide as possible to the youth," he said in his policy speech at the Umno General Assembly in Putra World Trade Centre.

Themed 'United Malay,' the annual assembly is attended by over 2,700 members nationwide.
