KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court on Thursday ordered United Overseas Bank (M) Bhd to pay RM800,000 in damages to a couple who lost valuables they had kept in a safe deposit box at one of the bank's branches.
Judge Datuk Hue Siew Kheng allowed the lawsuit by Lee Yaw Lin, 46, a businessman, and his wife Choo Yoke Peng, 40, after finding that United Overseas Bank (UOB) as the defendant, had committed negligence in rendering services.
