KUALA LUMPUR: There is a need to look at the Sedition Act 1948 to suit a more globalised Malaysian landscape, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
“The Sedition Act as it is currently, protects all religions and races and is not only limited to Malays and Muslims. However, it is something that needs to be looked into,” the Umno vice-president told reporters when visiting media booths at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) during the 68th Umno General Assembly.
