Johorean fined RM10,000 for possessing protected pangolins

KOTA KINABALU: A Johor man was fined RM10,000 by the Beaufort Magistrate Court after he admitted to illegally possessing 12 pangolins.

Carlvin Cher Jia Wei, 21, had pleaded guilty to the charge on Tuesday under section 41(2) of the Wildlife Conservation Enactment 1997 after being produced before Magistrate Ryan Sagirann Raynor Jr on Nov 24.
