SHAH ALAM: There are some discrepancies over the RM2.5mil severance payment made to eight aides of former Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, said Mentri Besar Azmin Ali.
He said the discrepancies involved not only the quantum but the manner in which the payments were made.
He said the matter would be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action taken against any wrongdoing by the employers, state-owned Mentri Besar Incorporated (MBI).
Azmin told reporters after chairing the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) meeting Thursday that MBI’s new chief executive officer and chief operations officer would be handling the matter. Both will be reporting for duty on Dec 1.
On another matter, Azmin said that Kidex Sdn Bhd had been asked to comply with three conditions pertaining to the construction of the controversial Kinrara-Damansara Expressway.
The conditions involved the company proving via a traffic impact assessment that the expressway would benefit road users and residents as well as make a complete disclosure of the concessionaire agreement.
Azmin added that the company must disclose the toll rates, including the proposed hikes, and the corresponding rate of return of the highways.
