BEIJING: A Malay language expert at the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) is confident that the language, spoken by more than 300 million people, can become an important international language of communication.
Prof Dr Wu Zong Yu (pic), who is director of the Chinese-Malay Studies Centre at BFSU, said in the economic, political and social context, Bahasa Melayu would become more important, particularly in the Asian region.
