Nurse killed in car-motorcycle collision

JOHOR BARU: A 23-year-old nurse died on the spot when her car went out of control and collided with a motorcycle on the opposite lane, along Jalan Kempas Baru here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Khamsani Abdul Rahman said the incident occurred around 8.30pm at KM3 Jalan Kempas Baru Thursday.

"We believe that the victim, identified as Ungku Hariani Farahim Ungku Rathali, was on her way to work when she lost control of her car and swerved into the opposite lane before hitting a motorcycle.

"We are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said when contacted on Friday.

The motorcyclist was said to be seriously injured.
