KUALA LUMPUR: Raja Ahmad Shahir Iskandar Raja Salim and his estranged wife, Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar, are still looking for the best solution to resolve the issue on their child custody which she filed last April.

Syariah lawyer Azmi Mohd Rais, representing Raja Ahmad Shahrir, told this to reporters after the case came up for mention in chambers before Syariah High Court judge Amran Mat Zain.

The couple were not at the court today. Nurul Izzah was represented by lawyer Normawaddah Ramli.

Azmi said Nurul Izzah had emailed a draft of the agreement on the proposed child custody to her husband last week and that his client needed time to study the matter.

"The court also ordered Raja Ahmad Shahir to enter his defence if there is no solution to the matter, and set Dec 8 for mention," he added.

Nurul Izzah, who is Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president, filed an application for custody of her daughter, aged seven, and son, aged four, on April 30 last year.

The application was filed about four months after she filed an application to divorce her husband of 11 years. - Bernama
