KUALA LUMPUR: An ustaz has come out in defence of the organiser of the recent “I Want to Touch A Dog” programme, claiming that a school of thought in Islam other than the Shafie school that is followed in Malaysia allows it.
Dr Zaharuddin Abdul Rahman, who heads an association called Muttaqa Asatizah dan Pendakwah Malaysia (Murshid), said Mazhab Maliki allows dogs to be hugged and kissed.
