KUALA LUMPUR: Police will act against unauthorised escort riders for diverting and stopping the flow of traffic.
Bukit Aman Traffic chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Fuad Abdul Latiff said it has come to his attention that several agencies used the services of the riders to escort their VIPs around.
“What they are doing is illegal if they resort to stopping or diverting traffic,” he told reporters.
He said he had written to those involved in employing such riders to stop their actions as only the police had the authority to divert or stop traffic on the roads.
He said he had discussed the matter with traffic police officers in the Klang Valley on what action to take should they come across such situations.
